Personal Music Production Coaching
Finish More Music. Become the producer you know you can be.
One-on-one coaching for electronic music producers who are tired of unfinished songs, endless tutorials, second-guessing themselves, and feeling like their music never quite reaches the level they hear in their head.
Better decisions. Better music.
Practical guidance for your music, your workflow, and the mental habits
that determine whether your ideas become finished songs.
Why Producers Stay Stuck
Most producers do not need more information.
They need to make better decisions.
Better decisions about what to keep, what to remove, what deserves attention, what can wait, and when a track is ready to move forward.
Most producers already know enough to make music. The problem is that all of that knowledge becomes difficult to organize and implement at the right time. They overthink, second-guess, compare, collect more tools, and lose momentum before the song becomes real.
Coaching helps shorten the distance between where you are today and the producer you want to become.
Does This Sound Familiar?
The problem is rarely a lack of potential.
It is usually unclear priorities, too many options, and not knowing what to trust.
I know enough to get started... but not enough to finish.
Starting is easy. Developing the idea, maintaining energy, and knowing when it is finished are the harder skills.
Every new plugin gives me hope... until I am still making the same music.
Better tools can help, but they cannot replace better decisions with what you already own.
I keep returning to the same eight bars.
An exciting loop already contains the heart of a song. The next step is learning how to develop it without exhausting it.
I hear that something is missing, but I cannot explain what.
Stronger listening skills turn vague dissatisfaction into practical choices you can hear and understand.
I compare my unfinished work to someone else’s finished career.
Comparison makes normal learning feel like failure. Focus instead on the next decision that makes your song stronger.
I have a job, responsibilities, and limited creative time.
Clearer systems and better habits create more progress in the limited time you already have.
A Different Kind of Coaching
I don't just teach Ableton. I transform the way producers think.
Knowing your DAW is important, but it's only part of the equation.
Technical knowledge matters, but every arrangement, mix, sound, and finished track is ultimately the result of hundreds of creative decisions. The biggest breakthroughs often come from improving how those decisions are made.
Our work can be highly technical when it needs to be. We can examine arrangement, mixing, sound design, Ableton Live, workflow, live performance, or a specific song that has you stuck. But we also address the habits underneath the project, because lasting progress comes from becoming more capable and independent.
The Producer’s Journey
Better decision making creates creative confidence.
The goal is not simply to learn more. It is to change the way you move through the entire creative process.
Excitement
Your excitement no longer disappears after eight bars—it carries you all the way to a finished track.
Clarity
Instead of wondering what to do next, you know where to focus your attention and which decision will move the song forward.
Momentum
Each better decision makes the next one easier, allowing steady progress to replace second-guessing and constant restarts.
Confidence
Instead of constantly asking whether you are doing it right, you begin trusting your ears, your instincts, and your creative choices.
Independence
You develop a process you can trust and the ability to solve creative problems without always needing someone else to tell you what to do.

Meet Your Coach
Jason Timothy
More than three decades producing, performing, DJing, studying creative process, and helping other producers make better music.
I began DJing in 1991 and later built a career that included studio work, mastering, live performance, music production education, and releases under the artist name Innerstate—including multiple number-one releases on Beatport.
I am the author of The Mental Game of Electronic Music Production and The Process for Electronic Music Production. Through Music Software Training, my courses, books, communities, and private coaching have helped thousands of producers improve their process and move closer to music they are genuinely proud to share.
My goal is not to impress you with complexity. It is to help you see what matters, remove what does not, and develop a process you can rely on long after our session ends.

What Producers Are Saying
“The best money I ever spent!” I used to get lost in sound design and session window tweaks, but following your step-by-step approach helped me finish quality songs quickly. I signed my first EP with a label I admire, and now I work daily with your 30-day workflow.
— Darin Donovan
“I had a great experience with this course and completed three tracks in 30 days. Even better, I managed to get one of those tracks signed to a label!”
— Neil McMeechan
“I won second place in a remix contest held by Black Lemon Records! They are releasing my track, and this would not have been possible without your training. Thank you for the mentoring!”

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an advanced producer?
No. I work with producers at many different skill levels. What matters most is that you care about improving and are willing to apply what we discuss.
Do you only teach Ableton Live?
Ableton Live is my primary teaching environment, but many of the most important production concepts—such as arrangement, critical listening, creative process, sound selection, mixing decisions, and finishing music—apply across most DAWs. We can discuss how to apply these ideas within your own software and workflow.
Do I need expensive plugins or studio equipment?
No. I generally prefer helping you get better results from the tools you already own. New tools can be useful, but only when they solve a clear problem or meaningfully improve your workflow.
Can we work on one of my unfinished songs?
Absolutely. Working on a real song often gives us the clearest view of your current strengths, habits, and obstacles. It also allows us to make practical improvements that you can hear and apply immediately.
What happens after I book?
After choosing a coaching option, you will complete payment and select an available session time. I will then confirm the appointment and give you an opportunity to ask any questions beforehand. You will receive the Zoom information before the session, along with any preparation instructions you may need.
Can I book ongoing coaching?
Yes. Sessions can be scheduled weekly, every other week, monthly, or at whatever pace best supports your goals. If ongoing coaching would be useful, we can discuss a schedule that provides continuity while still fitting your needs and availability.
