Share your Creativity using Looper!
If you haven’t been keeping up on the Ableton Challenges I’ve been hosting, I highly recommend you do. The goal here isn’t to waste your precious time, but to open you up to a number of ways to get creative in your music making.
In this challenge I decided to use the Looper instrument in Ableton. It’s an amazing tool for getting new ideas flowing. What I did was to use Ableton’s internal instruments with Looper to create interesting soundscapes. So the notes stay in key while fumbling around, I used Ableton’s Scale effect. I create a group instrument so I could quickly choose from several sounds & I added a simple delay to make things flow with the tempo a bit. I also adjusted the volumes of each beforehand, so the loop sounded more balanced, but you can feel free to do whatever you like.
What’s great is that it doesn’t require any particular skill to do. Simply let your mind go & see what happens. I guarantee what you come up with won’t sound quite like anyone else. Want to share some Looper loops for this challenge? I look forward to hearing your results.
Below are 2 videos of what I did in a couple minutes:
Challenge ends Dec. 3rd
You’ve got until monday to submit your Loops! To take part in this, Simply follow the instructions in the Ableton Challenges page. You are not required to be a Producer’s Playground member to take part. All those who share their creations will have everyone else’s creations shared with you as well (Don’t worry, those who participated in the 1st challenge, I got the files coming soon!).
Why not set aside 20 minutes with Ableton & see what you can do?
Happy Music Making,
Jason
