How to save audio clip effect settings
I was recently asked if it is possible to save all of your effects and effect settings with an audio clip. Basically this would allow you to have all of your settings back anytime you dragged this clip into a new Ableton project. This can be good for DJ’s who have certain effects and EQ settings associated with certain songs as well as the obvious benefit for producers.
Here is the short and simple way to accomplish this:
Drag in your audio or midi clip to it’s own track.
Drag in your eq. delay, phaser… whatever you want
Set your effects to taste
Rename your clip
Drag the clip into your browser in Ableton
Ableton will make a project folder with the renamed clip inside if it’s audio, or will create a clip icon if it’s midi. Pull that clip into a new track and all your effect settings will come with it. Have fun,
Jason
