The Easy Approach to Bootleg Remixes in Ableton
This is a walkthrough of one of many Bootleg re-edit & remixes I’ve done. This is certainly not the only way to approach a remix, as I use different techniques all the time, but I think you’ll find approaching a bootleg is much less intimidating than making your own track. Where producing a song from scratch can be fairly daunting to the new producer, a quick remix doesn’t have to be hard.
As with many bootlegs, I start with the stereo mix of the original song since it’s rare to get ahold of separated instruments files. This limitation can actually be an advantage in some ways, as it’s less you have to sort through. I kept this walkthrough light on the technical stuff, because it can get in the way of you just going for it. There is a time and place to learn all that & I get into a lot of that in other videos but I made this to be as straight forward as possible while throwing in some cool tricks. Enjoy!

Can´t see the video in sweden, because of EMI! Is there someway you can mail it to me?
You can’t see it anywhere, because of EMI, I’m guessing. I’m in the US and it’s unavailable as well. Maybe try uploading to Vimeo?
Try it again now, I updated the link. Should work 🙂
